How difficult is it nowadays to get into 3d modeling for a 2d artist who has done physical sculpting before? What programs would you recommend? Any good guides out there?

It's easy as fuck. Go look at some tutorials or something. Just use Blender if you're starting out. The UI's a mess, but that just means it'll force you to really git gud.
