Is google tiltbrush a viable media for professional work?
all i've seen until now is meme brushes: sparkle brush, snow brush, light brush, ala corel painter

Going based on the self promotion threads alone I'd say we break 100 regulars.

Yeah, but they go nowhere but self promo and draw threads.

I've seen a couple of reviews, where non artists basically say "i bet an artist could do wonderful things with this shit"
but i don't think so. the whole thing seems too gimmicky and inmature.
also, by the end of they will release "oculus medium", which is more or less the same thing.
I've tried it (for maybe 10-15 minutes). It's a fun toy.
Like, I don't want to downplay that. It's SERIOUSLY fun. It made me order my own HTC Vive (I was going to get either that or Oculus anyway, but was waiting for more reviews first).
But I can't see what use it would be in my professional work, at all. I would liken it more to Minecraft than to some serious art creation software. It does give a tantalizing idea of how 3D modeling/sculpting might possibly benefit from VR, but I'm waiting for a proper application for that.

They're drive-by marketers.

"Oculus Quill" sounds like that, IN THEORY:
>From what the company has shown, Quill is like a professional-grade version of the HTC Vive's flashy Tilt Brush painting program.
>Oculus is keeping most of Quill's interface under wraps, but what it's showing off is the virtual equivalent of watercolors and a canvas — subtle and all-purpose tools for trained artists
anyway, the sensible thing would be not expecting nothing really usable for a 1st gen product.

Except it's completely different. It's still not viable as a professional tool, but Medium is more like baby's first 3d sculpting, while tiltbrush is just random lines in 3d space.
Are there known plans to migrate photoshop, zbrush, or any other professional software to VR?
it seems like a no brainer, for 3d software, at least.
