This ones about a train trip I took on the way to Brussels when they raised the terror alert to maximum.

Pretentious comes to mind.

How so?
>>
>>2481784
Great feedback. I bet your a real talent
>>
>>2481791
Thanks and I actually can do a whole lot better. Those photoshopped faces don't mix very well with the paintings. I think it would be better to paint them on traditionally. But you probably don't have that kind of technical skill

Here's a self portrait I did from a mirror at 19 cunt. Aight Idk why I expected to get anything out of this website, good luck with your sexyelfs and anime
>>
>>2481803
omg go away. you gonna post the one where you killed your parents and propped them up at the dinner table too?
>>
>>2481803
I agree with >>2481796 but he doesn't need to be such a dick about it
>>
>>2481810
I mean I can if you want
>>
>>2481803
Lol that self portrait is pretty amateurish dude. I think >>2481796 is right
>>
>>2481822

Drawing/painting ability became a useless skill in about 1950. I go through a sketch book a month (usually less than that) and I've drawn constantly since I could hold a pencil. But the medium is pretty boring since photography
>>
You guys are probably all just wasting your time on here. I mean what are you going to do, go slave away in illustration or concept art job with a 50 hr + a week and basically no recognition all the while yelling "Dumb normies!". Good luck

Drawing and painting is defiantly not a useless skill. I'm trying to make a career out of producing and selling fine art. There is a huge market for it. If you don't have much skill you won't make it. Attached is a charcoal drawing i did

well while you've been slaving away on memes in your basement i've been drawing cute girls at a coffee shop

barbaric, i know. compared to your lofty goals all i want is to draw pretty girls naked. despite what you think though, im pretty sure my ambitions are more in line with those of the masters ;) they'd definitely see where im coming from
>>

>>2481845
the fuckin goon squads here XD

OP you suck
>>
>>2481845
Doodles bro how you gonna pay the bills. I don't really even give a fuck about the art so much as I want the things art can get you if you do it right. Van Gogh had it wrong

>>2481844

Yeah that's cool man. I guess that path just seems a little boring to me. I mean copying Velasquez, I'd kill myself. I'm not horrible with traditional btw, here's a drawing I did at 18
>>
OP here, I'm not getting sucked into a black hole, no more posting on my end.

Good luck to u guys
>>
>>2481854
Go already you talentless piece of shit
>>
>>2481854
alright bye. remember though you're never gonna make it
>>
>>2481860
Of course I will
>>
>>2481860
I just do it as a hobby, I already have a good job faggot. Also didn't you say "no more posting on my end."
>>
>>2481772
>critique thread
you mean troll thread?

you've posted this try-hard shit a million times.
and you've been told a million times why it sucks.
>>
>>2481803
it's mediocre, and you post it every time someone critiques your bullshit, as if it proves anything. I can smell the insecurity from here.
>>
>>2481907

Nah I haven't I get told it's "shit", "try hard", etc. no real usable feedback
>>
>>2481946
Bullshit. I've seen long paragraphs telling you EXACTLY why your pretentious ideas are shit. Check the archives if you've already forgotten.

>op rolling in all the (You)s

at this point with 22 posts in his thread he must deserve it

you fuckers will fall for anything
>>
What I don't understand is why you post your artwork on 4chan and expect a good response. As if you everyone is just going to jerk your fucking dick for you.
>>
>>2481957
idk either at this point. I guess I'm pretty unsure about what I'm doing right now and extremely confident in myself at the same time. So I'm trying to get another perspective.
>>
>>2481959
Maybe post it to another website? Like DeviantArt. 4Chan has to be the worst place for you lol.
>>
>>2481961
Deviantart is full of bronies and 13 year olds
>>
>>2481961
I get feedback from people irl so it's not a problem, I just like hearing how people react
>>
>>2481964
>e
Well yeah that is true, but if you want to show off pretentious artwork then I can't think of a better place
>>
>>2481966
You like hearing people tear down your art? If that is what you're into.
>>
>>2481967

From what I'm gathering "pretentious" means anything that's trying to be contemporary and isn't aimed at the entertainment industries
>>
>>2481970
Artwork can fit into those categories but its when its obvious how hard you're trying that is when people will shit on it.
>>
>>2481977

I guess trying hard doesn't even enter my mind because I'm so busy trying to figure out good and relevant stories to tell
>>
>>2481970
It's when execution is so poorly done it's almost as if you're begging for attention rather than contributing something neat.

This is pretentious, because it has no consistency and hence looks like crap.
That's the difference between being modern and being a pretentious fuck.
If it were consistent but I hated it, I wouldn't call it pretentious, I would call it a dumb idea.
>>
>>2481984
What stories do photoshopped faces tell?
>>
>>2481984
>I guess trying hard doesn't enter my mind because I'm so busy trying so hard
what a vicious cycle. sucks to be you OP
>>
>>2481984
>>This is pretentious, because it has no consistency and hence looks like crap.

This
>>
>>2481988
They're like reaction images, they create a mood
>>
>>2481992
What mood does this create guys?
>>
>>2481986

It's not consistant because I'm trying really new processes. I'm sculpting images in clay then using this new technology to 3D scan them into the computer using 100 photos or so of it. Then I manipulate the surface material in a 3D program and add textures over top. Hard to make it look great when your using a technology that's only been around for a few years
>>
>>2481997
That doesn't sound like the best idea for making artwork that you then post to the internet.

>>2481997
wow thats so innovative. here's a painting i made with brushes and cheap acrylic paint and it's vastly better than anything you've posted so far
>>
>>2481997
So basicly you thought you would pioneer a brand new proccess...

It took Vangoh 4 years to make the Mona Lisa you know ?
Technological limitations aren't an excuse when you can improve the technology with your own skills.
>>
>>2482016
Da Vinci fuck.
>>
>>2482016
Yeah I know but I started it 2 weeks ago man haven't got there yet. I'm more interested in if the reaction faces create a mood/story the way I want
>>
>>2482018
Well, either way...
I wouldn't say what I dislike about it is the end result and process as much as your sculpting skills.

It would work better if the humans looks more human. Problem is they look super uncanny.
If you can make the human bodies not look like squids somehow that would help.

Whatever, signing off.

Over laying digital photos on traditional artwork is very jarring and to put it bluntly, you have human faces surrounded by poorly drawn and painted abominations.
>>2481803
keep this up it looks really good.
>>
>>2482127
P.S. stop being such a dick.
>>
>>2481772
Hey OP, I personally really like the direction that your paintings are going. Much better than your overdrawn and overpainted self portrait. But personally I don't like the photoshopped faces... Its just overkill. I say you keep going in the direction you are going with the original paintings
>>
>>2482127
"keep this up it looks really good"
You must be new to drawing/painting. The proportions are fine but its terribly over paintings. All those colors are completely unnecessary. The Abstract paintings that You call abominations are much more interesting and intriguing. Its not all about how real you can paint.
>>
>>2481845
Hello bricom40
>>
>>2482014
To be honest, I don't like it personally, but I can see why someone would.
OP doesn't have that (yet)
>>

I'm new to drawing/painting because I prefer good art over pretentious, and even for abstract "art" looks stiff and flavorless.

Nice logic mate
>>
>>2482587
you don't like it because it sucks. brian has several complexes, between the ego and penis shame.
>>
>>2481772
>>2481772
It's like you were deliberately trying to make these look super cheesy. It looks like a poorly done middle school project
