You can more than talk about your piece in the LAS thread, Beginner thread, Alternative thread or even the Porn thread; Hell, you could make your own thread. The only things Discord would provide over /ic/ are "Friends", competition, and instant feedback
I understand that some people like getting good with others in the form of camaraderie or competition. I'm not saying groups are useless; getting instant feedback is nice. I'm saying this particular group is bad; Its practically a few people trying to put out a ship on fire with shot glasses.
