When you draw from imagination you're actually symbol drawing. But your symbols have become something much more complex and realistic cuz muh studies.

lets assume your portrait skill is your fitness function
symbol drawing is equivalent of population during its first iteration and as it mutates/crosses/randoms it becomes something greater if you guide it the right way
