Not really. Everything he draws shows a solid understanding of 3d form. Not sure why the fuck idiots like you think because someone takes ONE shortcut, they automatically suck at everything. The guy is better at drawing figures in perspective than you will ever be. The fact that he saves time by using 3d programs or photos for backgrounds is hardly anything shocking.
In fact, the vast majority of mangaka use photos for backgrounds. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever, unless you steal a copyrighted photo that you don't own.

Despite compositional awkwardness I think Yoshida's art is just livelier somehow, but I have a very romanticized view on his subjects so I might be biased. I posted it mostly for the water, he gets a good effect with a simple method. Still, maybe it doesn't really fit the thread.

The visual language reminds me of comic books. The way the limbs are depicted, especially. Very angular, structural rhythms and curves being pushed hard. I gotta agree that it's pretty cool.
