maxfield parrish is the wierdest. often, instead of painting actual landscapes, he would set up miniatures in his studio and paint them. he also painted over photographs.

I think this is terrible. There is absolutely nothing of the artist in there. Not even expressive brushwork. We will probably have robots 'painting' pictures onto canvases within 10 years, and they will look exactly like this.
