I reckon this would be the best place to post this.

I'm going to try wood carving for the very first time within the next week, and I need some advice before I get started. I want to carve pic related, and its dimensions are 1:10, which puts it at 6.4 cm x 12.3 cm x 7 cm.

Anything about what tool I should use, what wood I should use, and advice in general will help very much.

Thank you for any support! This is for a project I'm doing, due on Tuesday of next week.
