The process can be a grind but if you find creation not fun you should really look at the underlying problem there. If you used to think it's fun and you no longer think it's fun, is a hallmark of depression.

But I do draw for fun
I don't plan on making any sort of career out of drawing and painting, but i'm still spending a lot of my time doing it

I agree that to create is an amazing experience, but by no means should you be comfortable in mediocrity. You should always seek to improve no matter what you're working on
