If your goal is to draw in a style as simplistic as SU or Adventure Time, you don't need to study anatomy. For anything beyond that, you do need at least a basic understanding of surface anatomy. I personally really like the type of stylization that is heavily rooted in reality and it's impossible to do that without proper understanding of the human figure.

Maybe if your goal is to draw in those specific, already established styles, you don't need anatomy. But if you want to create characters in a similar style, you do need anatomy knowledge.

Not really. Those styles are practically just simple geometric shapes put together. You need an understanding of form, proportion and perspective, but very little, if any anatomy. As I said, the moment you want to draw in a style that is rooted in reality, you do need anatomy, so not sure why you are even trying to have an argument here with me. I'm literally saying you need anatomy for anything but the most simplistic of styles.
