>shape languages
lol you're the guy that drew triangles all over Repin and said that's what made the image unsettling, aren't you? Please, point me at the book your professor taught you this from. I'm genuinely curious as to what the fuck you think you're on about.
>inb4 "My professor is a genius and came up with it himself"

Shape language is a very common term you idiot
>>2300122
common amongst who?
>>2300182
I've mostly heard it among visdev and some illustrators. It might be used outside of that too, but I'm not as familiar with those areas.
>>2300184
so you cant cite a source or do we have to take your word for it?
>>2300326
>I'm too lazy to research it myself
If you take two seconds to do some google searches you can find people using the term or talking about it in blog posts. A lot of people seem to use it in conjunction with character design so searching for things like "shape language character design" or "shape language concept art" will probably get more hits (though in reality it extends into far more than just character design). If you search the /ic/ archive you can find people use the term in various threads as well. If you've ever spoken with anybody in the industry too you will know that the term is used fairly often.

So you can't back up your claim? Why does anyone have to research what you heard? If it is so easy to find then why not start off with that instead of conjecturing?
>>2300368
>asks who uses the term
>gets told what fields it is used in
>doesn't believe and had to demand sources
>provided with examples and told to look things up
>"so you can't back up your claim?"
>>2300377
you forgot the part where you said lots of people use the term
>>2299498
>Thinks shapes has nothing to do with art
I'm sorry you're never going to make it anon
>>2300377
still not seeing anything to back it up
>>2300430
Just for clarification sake, are you asking how shapes are used in general? I don't really understand what it is that you think these guys are trying to push that you are so offended by. Shapes are used for lots of things. At my school the teachers talk about them so often it's rediculous. So what's your deal?
>>2300455
He doesn't believe the term "shape language" exists and he thinks it's made up by an anon but refuses to listen to arguments against him or look anything up. Just ignore him.
>>2300461
I only asked for an example of where you heard the term, like specific people for instance, and now your acting all defensive. Why?
