study a variety of methods. use a variety of utensils. just keep at it. I'm not gonna critique because I can tell you haven't invested much time in it yet.

Do some careful realistic drapery studies until it clicks and you "get it"

It's apart of its skin, really wouldn't call them ears though. I do need help on muscular monsters I wanted something with spikes and wings with a tail almost like bahunat from ff advent children mixed with my own original design I had in my head.
