I'm too embarrassed to share my first drawing of the year.
Anyways, here's what I did last night. Still nothing special, but I've made a LOT of progress since the beginning of the year.

about one year.

Are you trying to emulate the worst possible thing about sycra?
Man, looking back at my stuff from earlier this year makes me cringe so bad
>>2278297
>yeah, galo sengen
>>2279100
You're the best poster on this board to be honest family shake my head in my humble imho
>>2279130
Haha what are you on about senpai
>>2279145
Somehow senpai autocorrected to senpai
>>2279100
great improvement in character silhouettes. not sure where the second character is from but I enjoy its legs!
>>2278297
how old are you?

First drawing from imagination this year, based on a design some other anon made.
>>2279168
And here's my latest drawing from imagination, this time based on a design a child made. My drawing is on the right.
I made that a month ago.
Yeah I still have trouble with finishing stuff.
And here's my most recent drawing (life study): >>2278701
Clearly the left one wasn't finished, but I tried rendering it several times and never liked how it turned out. I spent most of this year learning how to paint and I finally got something I'm happy with.
cringe to the max on the older one. still got a long way to go
To compare apples to apples, I found the closest mech to January 2015 (on 12/31/2014)
I specifically remember giving up on inking it because it was too tedious and taking me too long - now I can bang that shit out - Jan 2015 me was a wuss.
otherwise not much improvement this year...
meh, for what it's worth the left took like twice as long as right
>>2279158
Why does it matter? Lets just say I've been drawing somewhat serioudly for 8 months.
First two before's are from casts, after is from a live model
Shit, resize for >>2279222
>>2279215
Are you the same dude, that in the draw thread asked me to go to /3/?
I thought that was just a compliment, but I'm not so sure anymore, so let me clarify this: I've never worked with 3d models before. It's a 2d digital painting. I can even post my psd files, if you don't believe me.
>>2279168
Oh, that was me. I can barely look at mine though, and i remember that i really thought it looked great and was really proud of it at the time
Ehh.
>>2279473
Not much improvment. Do you even try
>>2279473
Are they supposed to be transsexuals?
Before
>>2279494
After
>>2279187
There's definitely a huge improvement, but yes you do still have a long way to go!
Fine, fuck it.
Top is September 29th, bottom is November 8th. Both this year. I started a bit over a month ago, yep.

>might have even gotten a little worse
>>2279552
Hang in there baby
>>2279542
You won't notice much if anything at all in such a small time period. This is a craft that takes years to become remotely alright

what are you studying and for how long and do you study every day or at least more than twice a week?
>>2278601

Before
>>2279554
It's always too early to give up.
>>2279580
Man, you got me. I've got a pretty sporadic (ie; non-structured and inconsistent) schedule so it's a surprise I've gotten better at all. Drawing for nine hours a day for a week straight then taking another week off has been plaguing me.
>>2279588
>haven't regressed or progressed in some areas at all
>>2279602
Dont chicken scratch.
>>2279628
i find it really hard to make simple clean lines, even after tons of line confidence work.
>>2275310
repost from towergirl-thread
>>2279632
Try using thicker lines and ghost a couple of times before putting them down.
>>2279626
>Drawing for nine hours a day for a week straight then taking another week off has been plaguing me.
Oh no anon, don't do this. You're just setting yourself up for failure. When you are trying to improve, you have to work your brain. That means learning, not just mindless drawing. And mindless drawing is all you're going to get if you try to work for hours straight and don't take breaks. (It's different when you are working on a piece where all you are doing is applying your knowledge and not trying to discover something new, though breaks are still good regardless)
Watch this video when you get the time. Then make some lifestyle changes and just try to draw (study) every day for at least 25-30 mins. Take breaks, then study more when you have more time. If you have an entire day where you literally do not have 30 mins to sit down to practice, don't fret- just make a note to try again the next day.

To be fair, the zombies were a rushed commission and the portrait I spent like 3 solid days on.
>>2279723
i really enjoyed that lecture, thankyou.
>>2279723
pretty basic stuff are students in america this dumb?
>>2279819
unfortunately, its alot worse than you think.
>>2279819
Not only that but most of us also go into crippling debt just to acquire such basic information
>>2279723
The entire idea of "study less" is kind of abhorrent to me but I really appreciate how this could be applied to more effectively use the time you spend rather than just flat out increasing the volume of time ineffectively.
good god why did i ever think this was acceptable.

sushi boy is pretty cute and creative anon, at least you arent drawing mlp, furshit or weebtrash,
>>2280629
Isn't sushi boy "weebtrash"?
>>2280720
Not really, the drawing has its own unique style to it whereas all weebtrash looks exactly the same.
i did one for paintings and for drawings now. the painting ones not pretty. that before. yeesh
>>2280731
heres the drawing one
>>2280734
Hah, you were the skeleton key guy? That image is pretty old if I recall correctly, haven't drawn anything presentable lately?
>>2280755
No I've been doing paintings. Last big push for personal work at the end of the year. I've got 3 more drawings to do maybe 4

Nice bait.
Looking back at it now, I didn't grow much. Wasted a lot of hours not practicing drawing.
I kinda like this chaotic mess of the before one. The later is simpler, calmer, the line control and colour use is great. Looking at the lines and colour spots you can see that it's done by a same person.
I was saying about the guy who made a after picture of a chair (I can't fuckin post good yet :/)
>>2280731

Happens to the best of us.
