No intention of derailing but are you in NY or the general northeast? I'm also in a bit of a storm to put it lightly.
>>1955409
>>1955410
NYC actually. Might end up being home alone overnight for the first time in 20 years since my mom might be held at her job.

Well now they're closing down at 11, express trains stop at 7. Sooo...very fucked, beyond fucked.
Useful stuff. Thanks a bunch.
Was hoping someone had a few regarding measuring/getting image from ref exactly as possible. Seen a few in the beginner threads but didn't get the chance to save them.

I'd also look into the Bargue and Gerome Drawing Course, and learn the correct way to copy the plates.

>The iris a face going :O
I have so many tutorial pics and I know I'm probably never going to use many of them
>>1956297
>I know I'm probably never going to use many of them
Good because tutorial pics suck, get a book or watch a video of someone going in depth of what they're doing one page is better than nothing of course but you will have a shallow understanding if you don't see it well in practice.
Does any one have that mannequin figure drawing one.
Has balls for joints and as the area between the torso and the hips.
Shit was blue too I think, it's a pretty popular one.
ill dump my favs of teal guys stuff

i know you are just trying to help anon but that faggot just copied some internal anatomy pictures from netter or sobotta or whatever and gave names to them. nothing to do with how they work. also i cant see how learning about inner ear or eye muscles could help the average artist
>>1957454
>i dont know how advanced physics could help the average high school students
>>1957543
kek
the day I see some top artist giving two shits about eye muscles or inner ear anatomy, specially with those drawings copied from a medical anatomy/physiology book for some work that is not extremely specific I will let you punch me in the balls anon
>>1957451
most japanese tutorials are self explanatory but this one is focusing on depth using perspective in particular notice how the things that seem to be going toward you involve ellipsis facing up while things that recede into the distance are facing down (with the sleeve and leg)
pic related.

Heard someone else say that its necessary to learn 3d, experimented with google sketchup but eh.
If you really do need to learn 3d, what for?
>>1958397
I've heard of people doing what your gif shows, but it doesn't seem like much of a shortcut unless there's a whole library of pre-made assets?
I dunno much about 3D, except a few failed attempts with Sculptris.
>>1957825
manly shoulders. No collarbone.
>>1958454
Anyone have any good references or tutorials for the different kinda of lighting and their effects on form?
I've read a few books but I need some material I can hang up and quickly reference.
(bonus if it has something to do with how the light effects color)

Who the fuck holds a gun like that?
>>1960168
Annie May.
>>1958439
>it doesn't seem like much of a shortcut unless there's a whole library of pre-made assets
There is a massive library of pre-made assets. Users create models and upload them to the server for anyone to use.
>>1960168
That's not supposed to be how to hold a gun, it's the gesture of making the gun hand signal, a la spirit gun from yu yu hakasho
>>1960068
I can't take this guy seriously. He seems to know a lot of theory but can't even draw examples for shit. Like hell I'm taking this with anything more than a pinch of salt.
>>1960521
*she
And her tutorials are some of the best around. She can't really draw, yeah, but her advice is solid.
bump for interest
>>1960527
Her tutorials are just badly done redrawings of already existing books.
>>1956274
I've made actually some of those redlines, I'm not sure if this is what you wanted. Seriously though, best way to learn this is to read "Charles Bargue And Jean Leon Gerome Drawing Course" Which is the best book on that matter, Picasso and van Gogh learnt from this book

Beginner thread posts, m8. This is what happens when you try jumping straight to figure drawing without at least practicing basic 3D shapes first. At that point it doesn't matter how much Loomis or Vilppu you read, it's not going to help.
>>1961955
Honestly, you don't need to be an expert to teach people. You just need to offer some help and not use it as an excuse to shove your shitty opinions in impressionable faces.
>>1961953
lmao what kind of fear mongering bullshit is this.
you can draw whatever you want whenever you want. no one has to go through a linear process of being a great artist, and people rarely do that because who wakes up and goes "gee i want to start drawing cubes"
>>1961971
It's a generally accepted amongst teachers that the best way to see rapid improvements is to build up from basic shapes. Like once you understand spheres, cubes, and cylinders you can make a person pretty easily cause the human body can be broken down to those basic shapes. You can use them to understand lighting, perspective, to build forms, etc. It's like learning 2 + 2 before you start jumping into 10 digit numbers.
I mean sure you can just jump straight into it but that's a very easy way of getting discouraged with your results, and that's how you decide to drop art. Or that's when you decide to draw less and shitpost on 4chan more.
>>1961946
The drawings are from the newbs; the author is trying to correct those issues.
Cheesus fuck mate you can tell that with a bit of sense.
Anyone have that tutorial Teal did on the body's proportions?
Any decent tutorials for making comics?
>>1962548
Yeah, a whole frickin book
Thanks OP/everyone else who'e dumping these. Hopefully they'll be of use once I get past Fun with a Pencil.
Weird request, but is there anything on either designing, or exaggerating hair styles?
>>1955399
lol this
>>1962548
Well I have this.
