I myself am not a fan of Gastric's work but to say that binary objectively looks bad and that its not taste is wrong, there are many "binary" artists in /i/ Oolong and Gastric being examples, outside of 4chan, Cubesona, Binarypen and Shwig... many more I don't know the names. Art is a matter of taste for some pixelated art is the devil while for others they think that for realism there is photography.

S'not to say I won't make do with traditional brushes.
I personally just enjoy binary. It's a lot more manageable in some areas, too. Like creating a flat colors layer or manually tapering lines without having pen pressure.

Mmm mmm! That post earlier wasn't me, but I will say that I did post that on Tumblr. Some of the words were poor in choice in the heat of self-doubt, I will admit.
Alas, I meant what I said, although to a much less sappy degree. I personally feel that my art is lacking in interest, even amongst friends. So with that said, I'm going to poof!-vanish for awhile so I can focus less on socializing and more on honing my art, and finding a job too.
I'd be lying if I said that it wasn't because I want more people to like my art, myself included. But hey. It's a goal.
