I don't think so. They can get that look with a pair of electric hair clippers (the kind your barber uses for a buzz cut) with the number 1 or 2 clipper guard and be done in 2 minutes.
Shaving requires a hot shower, shaving cream, a sharp blade and a lot of time and patience, lest you end up with bleeding follicles and ingrown hairs. Hairy is way less maintenance.
