incorrect. it's tied to your IP, not cookies. i tried and tested it out with proxies. i'm not an expert though, but there may be something you can block (like a script) that would allow you to circumvent whatever is detecting your IP.
(i also suspect if it detects your IP downloading too many files it "bans" you, because i've reached my daily limit for multiple days without it resetting and letting me watch previews again)

1. (in chrome) right click on the white border around the video area and choose "Inspect"
2. find your way down through the tree of HTML elements until you find a <video> tag. this is the hardest part to explain clearly, so you'll just have to experiment a little. try to understand that a web page is just a bunch of things inside of other things, kinda like nested folders. you might be able to cheat by hitting ctrl+F (cmd+F on a mac) and searching for 'video'
3. the video element will have a source address on it. it should look like 'file/h4g9g9h0g'
4. copy the h2h4082h0g part, that's the file id
5. in your address bar, go to https://rec-tube.com/file/[file id]/
- don't include the [ ], just paste the entire id in between both slashes
if you did everything right, your browser should load the entire video so you can watch or save it
now we just need a reliable way to get around the 60 second limit... besides vpn

It detects your IP by that being where the request has come from. This doesn't involve scripts, it's an inherent part of how the Internet works. You can have something else send the request on your behalf (i.e. a proxy) so it comes from another address, but you can't stop it detecting an IP altogether - you'd never get a response because it wouldn't know where to send it.

I think it's bad metadata on the files, that happens a lot when you convert from old flash-video to the html5 friendly stuff. Different players do different things, like I saw no freeze BUT the time on the video jumped 15 minutes to the very end where it continued like nothing happened....

sounds like it's not loading jquery, which is normally loaded by the website itself. do you have any ad blockers or javascript blockers installed that might be blocking jquery from loading? (i use ublock origin but it doesn't interfere)
i just tested in firefox and it's working for me (although the IDs get all messed up because they don't wrap. try changing 'break-word' to 'break-all' in the code if this bothers you)

Pasted the code in that box from the second link? Great. Hit crunch. You get a link at almost the bottom of that box that says your bookmark (I think)
In Chrome, enable bookmark bar.
Now back to the crunched url,
Click and hold that. Drag it ONTO your bookmarks bar and it should stick.
Open up website, click your bookmark you just made and you should see white links appear under each video. That's how you know it's working. Clicking the videos now bring you directly to the file.

It will only let you download as long as the page loads the video. That only happens a few times, then afterwards it doesn't even load the video at all, but instead brings up the 60-second-limit message right away. At that point Video Download Helper, Downloader Professional, or any other browser addons that work in a similar way, can't help you anymore. Your only option is to use the bookmarklet as explained earlier in the thread.
