The Greek number is WAY to low if we are starting since the beginning of history which I will assume until it is specified, which this graph didn't do
They had in Sicily for example

So whatever colonial power divided their holdings into the most separate subdivisions wins this chart.

Pre-Alexanderian Ancient Greece had colonies in modern-day Libya, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, France, Russia, Albania, Montenegro, Cyprus and Croatia (which I mean actual colonies -- places that they sent to foreign lands to set up their own communities and preserved their culture in). Alexandrian and post-Alexandian gets more fucked up in counting what technically were or weren't colonies.

Yeah, lets ignore that Island chain in Southeast Asia named after a Spanish King.
Also fucking Portugal's place in Asia was a Chinese handout for them to trade in. They were removed from their initial colonies in Asia due to piratical antics of the Portuguese, leading to their ouster and a short lived law where it was death sentence to be Portuguese in China.

This chart tells little to less.
Belgium had few but huge colonies from which they gained much profit, the German had more colonies but they were mostly tiny Islands in the pacific or african desert.
Pic is German caricature showing depicting different styles of colonial powers.

and the dutch originally copied the portuguese model and improved upon it
>>997358
Portugal was a proxy of England. That's why they got anything in the Berlin Conference, for England to use it through Portugal.
