Probably the same but with tanned or brown-ish skin. One can assume that through ten thousand years of increased interracial breeding that we might all be a variation on a single color by then.

In 10000 years the average brain size might be measurably (but not noticeably on casual observation) slightly larger. We haven't changed much in the past 200,000 from a physical perspective outside of a slightly larger brain case.

Unless we send ourselves back to the stone age we'll hit the transhumanism mark well before we'd change much from natural evolution. And if we go down that road it's pure speculation what our species will be like.
>>
>>970463
Why not smaller? Major part of jobs do not require a heavy brain work. Also at this planet Evolution live together with Devolution.

Depends whether we start colonizing other planets or not. If we all stay on Earth we'll look pretty similar, except taller and most people will be varying shades of brown, with very small populations of pale/ very dark skinned people.

If we branch out onto other planets you'll see different variations of humanity, even though the difference will be most pronounced in language/ culture you will obviously get physical differences as well, which are hard to predict in that case.

De-Evolution isn't a thing. If you evolve a smaller brain you're doing so because it increases your fitness.

And in answer to the "why not smaller part?" I would bet everything I owned it will be bigger. Once we became bipedal ~8 million years ago average brain size has always gone up in homonids. Pick any species and measure average cranial capacity over a noticeable span of time and that's the trend you'll see.

It doesn't matter if your job is easy, as long as a larger brain infers a fitness advantage it will be selected for.

>De-Evolution isn't a thing. If you evolve a smaller brain you're doing so because it increases your fitness.
While true that devolution is not actually a thing, saying "you evolved this trait for a specific reason" is almost as absurd. Evolution is a result of random mutation and natural selection, there is not really a reason we would evolve a certain way, it just so happens that certain mutations are better for survival than others.

>>970386
And to OPs question, evolution occurs more frequently when the general population of a species is small, and the human population is pretty big. Any major changes to the the human genome in the future (especially a future as near as 1,000 years) is highly unlikely. Unless there was a gigantic bottleneck event wiping out 99% of the population (which is also unlikely)

ALL evolved traits are acquired because they increase fitness in some way or another. You're not wrong, you just misunderstood what I meant by "fitness." When I say fitness in this context I mean the strict biological definition of fitness.

The reason I said it like that exactly was to give a blanket explanation for why a smaller brain size might evolve, I wasn't positing the reason.

Most mutations are neutral and don't have to be fitness-increasing, so long as they aren't impairing the organism. Also, human brains are indeed getting smaller, but size =! intelligence. They're becoming more dense and efficient over time.

>>
>>971002
>ALL evolved traits are acquired because they increase fitness in some way or another.
This isn't true either, though. genetic mutations can be good, bad, or even neutral. And natural selection can sometimes be completely random. This means that evolution can produce inferior traits in a species and that it is not always something that helps them survive better.

Very very dead.

Probability of mankind going extinct one way or another is extremely high. It's been only 2 centuries of proper technological progress, but we already got nukes, artificial plagues and killer droids.

By XXII century we'll get even better at killing ourselves, but I don't see mankind solving problems non-violently.

This analogy is lacking because both activities are difficult without learning said activity from previous generations.

I will say that hunting would be easier to stumble upon just by witnessing ambush tactics from wild animals like lions or dogs. Multiplication would be quite harder to find in the wild.

people actually think like this?

large scale wars that were seen in the 20th century are a thing of the past, from here on out it'll be light conflicts usually with anarchistic groups like ISIS.

Economics keep everyone together tightly to the point that there's no reason to go to war.

What's more likely is that we'll have a great famine in the near future, and the population of the earth will half, which will help things in a way since there'll be a better focus on ensuring a constant food supply in the future.

I really think that long before the year 3000, genetic engineering will have brought significant changes to a significant part of humanity.
We can already do it with plants and animals in relatively simple ways. It won't take more than one or two centuries to be able to affect complex parts of our phenotype thrpugh genetic modifications.
These changes will be first directed at eliminating genetic diseases. Then at improving the children of those who can afford it, a group that will grow with time. They will be more intelligent, healthier, taller, stronger...ultimately prettier. China will lead on this way. Then the ethics comitees of the western world will be bypassed.
Then, maybe, after the rich have been improved, the poor will be improved in their ability to make the rich richer : they will be more docile, stronger, better at concentrating and staying awake for long periods, healthier, less prone to depression...

On the other hand, demographics will have a significant effect too. Africans will go from 1 to 4 billions over the century, europeans will be cut in half... They might disappear within a millenia. But that is hard to predict, things change. In any case, genetic engineering will preserve our phenotypes.
Overall, a surer tendency is for intelligence to restrain reproduction. In the long run, the average non- GMO human is certain to become dumber after reaching a peak due the spread of wealth and education in the currently poor areas pf the world.

Apart from your time frame being insignificant, natural selection means that the ones surviving long enough to breed get to pass their genes on. Unless we tamper with our genes on purpose - in which case it's impossible to guess - or employs eugenics, which is a really stupid and unscientific idea, mankind will probably not look significantly different. Speculations like' we will probably have huge heads for our super brains and elongated fingers to press buttons' get it wrong since this won't happen unless big heads and long fingers start to become some sexual norm that's so strong that everyone else is just forced out of the sex market. Or something else of a similar effect happens. As long as people survive in their current form, they will generally keep their current form.

Probably very similar. Our ideas of where racial lines are drawn will be different. There will be very few people who would look white by our standards due to low birth rates and the taboo of intermarriage being lifted.

America will be governed by a professional wrestler named President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho. We will water our crops with Gatorade.

Within a timeframe of 100 years we'll be able to virtually (possibly even physically) shapeshift into whatever the fuck we want. I can't imagine anything beyond that. So we're probably gonna hit an evolutionary endgame soon

Yes.

> large scale wars that were seen in the 20th century are a thing of the past, from here on out it'll be light conflicts usually with anarchistic groups like ISIS.
There will be peace for our time?
