Apocalypse Now is great. Uses Heart of Darkness basically as a script in order to draw parallels between Congo Free State and the Vietnam War. 10/10
I'd also recommend Full Metal Jacket because it shows that [American] soldiers sure as shit aren't heroes and R. Lee Ermey

There are no parallels other than the main characters, river travel and jungle. There is literally no equivalence between Vietnam and Congo Free State.
Vietnam ventrunes state that full metal jaket is the most accurate for what it was like
