Marius, Sulla, Lucullus, Catilina, Cicero, Pompey, Caesar all rolled into one. From 110 BC to 44 BC. Or maybe to 27 BC even.

William the Conqueror.

Robert Guiscard.

Otto the Great, Barbarossa, Frederick II (fuck the Pope).

Heraclius, Majorian, Maurice, Belisarius (hero doesn't win endings are all too rare).

Agreed. It worked in Rome because the whole timeline was simplified and shortened, everybody was supposed to age about twenty years and didn't. In this the timeline would be as it was, how else would Caesar go from being the shadow of an idea, when his mother's 10 years old or so, to 17 years in the grave? The characters, politics, and social and military changes would be enough to confuse most normies anyway, without including the average person's perspective.

>five coalitions form against him, he beats all of them
>invades Russia, his ass is kicked
>sixth coalition beats him because he can't recover from being a retard
>beaten, exiled, comes back and reigns a hundred days before being beaten again

It reads like a freaking Digimon enemy arc, six wars fought with him finally beaten on the last, then coming back "bigger and badder" for a short period of time. I'll never understand Nappyboos. And fugg of m8, I ain't no Britbrat.
>>

It is also an arc of a young talented man who rises from the gutter to become the most powerful man in the world. He starts off hating France, then becomes a radical revolutionary, then power corrupts him and he becomes what he originally hated. His affair with Josephine and other women are also quite interesting. There are a lot of action and it is a story of rise and fall.

With the right director and writer, this can be great.

Literally a son of a samurai. Veteran of the greatest battle of Russo Japanese war, Tsushima. Traveled America extensively. Attended Harvard. Learned to speak perfect English. Rose to the rank of Admiral. Proved himself to be a military genius. Staunch opponent of allying with the Axis powers and imperialist aggression but served his government's lost cause out of loyalty. Then in the end he's violently assassinated when his transport plane is ambushed by a squadron of P-38G Lightnings.

I seriously want a biopic on Nero. Just read about how he died, it's hilarious.

A biopic on Elagabalus would be good too but it'd offend too many people.

A movie about the Fall of Constantinople would be great.

A series made with the early Komnenos Dynasty would be pretty cool.

>Alexios rising to power, putting down Normans and Turks and palace intrigue that lead to him becoming Basileus. Portrayed as ambitious, intelligent, but willing to use underhanded methods to secure his grip on power. See the start of the crusades too. Also see the future John II Komnenos grow up alongside a Turkish Slave also named John, and the beginnings of their bromance.
>Reign of John II, with John Axouchos as a major secondary character, who acts like Robert Baratheon's Ned Stark. Komnenos would be a pious, but plain looking dude whose naivety allows his family to plot against him. Axouchos would be his rougher, but more handsome twin that works behind the scenes for the good of his best friend and the Empire. See him reiintroduced after time skip to the succession of John II where he refuses the lands of the traitorous Anna. Axouchos deals with internal struggles of identity and loyalty as most of the imperial family dislike him since the emperor trusts him a lot more than any of his own relatives. Overarching subplot of reconquest and them dealing with the Crusader armies.

>Pivotal plot point where John II prepares to besiege Antioch, but dies in a hunting accident. Axouchos is struck by grief, but as a final favour to his best friend, ensures that the succession to his son Manuel is safe despite him pleading to choose Isaac instead.
>Manuel's reign beigns without many hitches, but Axouchos initially does not approve of him, being much closer to his brother Isaac. They have several arguments where Manuel gets berated and compared to his father. Through wanting to be an even greater Basileus than John, Manuel grows more comfortable in his ambitions, securing allies in the Latins, Franks as well as demanding the fealty of several crusader states. He introduces jousts and Western European customs and as a man of change, he revitalises his Empire through domestic policy. Learning from the experiences of his father, he gives no quarter to the unruly crusaders running through his lands and fights some of them at one point. He demonstrates his military might and bravado and Axouchos slowly grows to approve of him, who has now married into the family at this point and binds the house of Axouchos to the house of Komnenos. The Turkish John finally dies after defending Corfu from a Norman invasion and Manuel is alone. The fall of the Dynasty soon begins with setback after setback, and Manuel grows frustrated with his failed ambitions of reconquering Anatolia and the Holy Land. He finally suffers a major military setback against the Turks and having burnt through his years with warfare and energetic ambition, he dies of a slow fever.

>Final season showing glimpses of the Empire crumbling further and further with each successor, with none being as influential as the first three Komnenoi. Ends with the Fourth Crusade, where Alexios Doukas, determined to make Eastern Rome great again, overthrows the Basileus and tries to chase away the crusaders and refuses to pay them. The Latins sack the city and the epilogue shows the destruction of the great buildings of the Komnenoi and wholesale slaughter of Greeks. We see the ambition of Byzantium crushed forever as the Empire is never able to recover from this point. We then see the Hagia Sophia ransacked, then the destruction of the earliest columns raised by Constantine himself, and finally, the ruins of Old Byzantium from before even the Romans. The Old World finally dies. Tears are shed.
