this BBC documentary will give you the basics in terms of chronology, which is already a lot since this region is a mess. I think there is no NATO propaganda in it, the serbians are not depicted as the evil, its very neutral and also explains some of the roots of the conflicts back to the early 20thcentury.
( its quite a boring documentary, like any good documentary )

I did watch the whole ting, it tries to stay as neutral as possible, it was made in 1995, Milosevic and Karadzic are interviewed in it, i think the doc was approved by them.

There is an objective way of rating documentaries.
"It agrees with me thus its good" is not it.
I wouldnt care if you said that the documentary is shit because it doesnt portray the serbs as monsters, the argument would still stand.
