Italy is Irelands mortal enemy. The flags are too damn similar. So, i'm glad we are cucking them, their birthday is overshadowed by a bullshit holiday that is just an excuse to get drunk. Feels good.
Happy birthday Italy

Italy is a pretty cool guy eh hero of two worlds and doesn't afraid of anything
Pretty serious question here, why attack an ideological ally when your only way of attacking was through a bunch of mountains?
Why not like, I dunno, ally with them or something?

60% of ethnic italian citizens aren't fluent in their national meme language
In some places like near the capital foreigners are more likely to have fluency than ethnic residents.

>60% of ethnic italian citizens aren't fluent in their national meme language
Actually, come unification time it was 2,5% or 10% of the population being italian speakers, depending on which data you use. Nowadays you'll not find one single italian born individual who isn't fluent in italian proper.

Not even the Savoia spoke french. Might as well have adopted greek becuase that what some southerners spoke at the time.

Mussolini was too scared of the psychopath up north. He needed to expand to not seem an easy pray after the war, and he just helped Franco seize power. He didn't have a lot of choices
