That's tantamount to being asked what a square is and responding with "it's a shape," you're not really saying anything about squares in particular. By your reasoning (which I don't deny) every emotion "is chemicals". And yet, we still make distinctions when we feel different things. Instead of just being asked what love is, suppose you were asked what love and hate are. Chemicals? But surely they aren't the same, right? You're going to need to be more specific.

First of all, science can not be proven (at least not outside of the empiricist paradigm) and secondly nothing is accomplished by saying that something is caused by chemicals in the body. Most of the time this kind of argument just puts an end to a kind of debate that logically has no one true conclusion.
