Which team would win?
>>
>>825146
Left. Piketty and Smith have little relation with the rest of their teams.
>>
>>825146
Right. By far

/his/ - Consensuses, always.
>>
Would win in what? Debate? Cricket? No holds barred cage match?
>>
>>825510
No, a fucking game of pickup basketball. What the fuck do you think two teams consisting of economists and economic "philosophers" and presidents praised and criticized for their economic policies while in office would debate about?
>>
>>825521
In a debate, the team on the right would win because they have Milton Friedman. It wouldn't even be close.

Actually, I don't even know why Bernanke is on the left side.
>>
>>825558
Because he is a keynesian. Friedman got torched left and right by Samuelson and Galbraith though so I think they would easily embarrass him.
>>
>>825558
I agree. Milton is one of the best debaters.
>>
>>825570
What do you think Keynesian means?

And no, Samuelson and Galbraith didn't beat Friedman in debates. Even in old age they were kind of bitter with him for beating them in debates. Even today Solow has sour feelings on Friedman.
>>
>>825146
neither
>>
>>825592
well he blamed the government for not doing enough to help prevent the great depression and advocated for a stimulus bill in 07. all I remember about Friedman was him debating college socialists and his fans getting hard ons over it. He never debated galbraith or samuelson to my knowledge, but they definitely were proven correct in the long run
>>
>>825608
You are talking about something you don't know.

When Bernanke said the government didn't do enough which economist did he thank for this lesson?

Also, Friedman DID debate Samuelson and Galbraith plenty of times.

And how can you say they were right and he was wrong, that they beat him in debates and then say they never debated him? You dont even know on what they debated but you declare them winners?

How does this work?
>>
>>825620
I don't understand what you are asking or stating.

I said he got torched left and right by them. Never said it was in a debate or not. Not even Hayek liked Friedman
>>
Here is Bernanke on Friedman. This is a famous speech.

http://www.federalreserve.gov/boarddocs/Speeches/2002/20021108/default.htm

So, mr >>825608 you should study more before talking about this. Coming from a position of ignorance is a bad thing.
>>
>>825630
I'm saying you are full of shit and you don't know what you are talking about.
>>
>>825642
Idiot, he said tightening the money supply was a mistake when the Fed did so in '28
>>
>>825664
Yes, and...?
>>
The left by far.
>>
>>825673
>He doesn't see a correlation with speaking out against tightening the money supply during a recession and being a Keynesian.
>>
>>825683
Milton Friedman was the one who came with this theory.

Again, you are ignorant. So, why do you pretend to know what happened in their debates, when you don't even know what made Friedman famous?

Well, he certainly wasn't left wing.

He was much further left than the political center today.

>>825759
>not recognizing at least half of those people

>>825750
This list doesn't make a lot of sense. No need to think a lot about it. OP is not an economist.
