A. All the Gospels was written long after the death of Jesus. The people who wrote them did not ever meet Jesus. The closest person included in the canon is Paul, who met James, the brother of Jesus. "Mark" "Matthew" "Luke" and "John" were composed exclusively in Greek. They cannot be taken as a source for reliable historical information. They are useful in their own ways, but not for history.
B. Jesus was killed for being an enemy of the state. He was not tried by the Sanhedrin. He was not killed by the Jews. He was tried and executed by Pontius Pilate, for attempting to cause riots during the Passover. You have thousands of Jews coming from the countryside sacrificing tens of thousands of animals everyday for the duration of the feast. Tensions are running high. Pilate, eager to avoid bloodshed and rioting, had Jesus killed because he was fucking shit up senpai and saying a bunch of inflammatory rhetoric. Crucifixion is the method of execution used by the Roman state. The Jews would have stoned him. The Sanhedrin were only lapdogs to the powerful Romans.
