Yeah and it was essential for the Alan Turning and his team but that was an older version of Enigma decoded during peace times. V2 was more important. There were also successful Polish spies not to mention some valuable victories in the field so we can't just focus on that.

Hitler liked certain Slavs. Wanted some of them as their allies and was actually allied with some of them. If by 1942 he changed his rhetoric there was always a possibility to "discover" that his Slavic allies were really more Germanic.

The German spy system during ww2 was laughable, there is hardly any comparison between them and the British spies.
Almost all German spies in Britain were captured and made to choose between being a double agent or death too
