Why were there no wars for the Americas in Europe? You're telling me France or Germany couldn't have just rolled into Iberia and told them to give up South America or else? These people murdered each other over rivers and towns, but a continent wasn't worth the effort?
Germany didn't exist until 1871 newfriend, Spain pretty much lost all the American colonies by that point.

We were constantly at war anyway in Europe, it doesn't change much if it's over a continent or not since it never stopped back then
Since when did europeans never fight over the Americas?

Did you miss out on the French & Indian War segment of the Seven Years War?
Or the Carribean Pirateniggery of Britain on Spanish coasts?
Or when France dropped a Habsburg Prince to rule Mexico?
They fucking fought over the Americas.
there was tons of fighting over colonies. not all were direct conflicts but all sides used privateers (especially the UK and France) to disrupt shit along with Natives to raid and shit.
some wars broke out over colonies but most broke out for other reasons but the potential for colonial gains helped fuel those wars. the UK in particular gained a lot of colonies through wars

The Americas were worthless, the real prize was in the domination of Europe

Spain and Portugal avoided conflict by Making treaties about respecting each others sphere of Influence early on, Other European Powers were too weak back then
But In 1600's with the Rise of the Dutch/French/British there were some wars over the Americas untill The 1800's
look up the Portuguese Dutch war and the 7 years war and even Napoleons invasion of Spain
