Some is exaggerated history, some is complete fabrication just to tell a story/prove a point.

Thank you

It always seemed to me like myths are stories about real people and events that got way out of hand

>>561279
Interesting

No. Myths are a different literary mode, and their truth value was never considered the same as we consider modern history.
>>

Elaborate

I was under the impression that people believed myth literally happened
>>
Mythology is a good way to understand cultures and their scientific knowledge/ values. Some of it may be true but it definitely wasn't all true. Also depends on the culture

no

Mythology is just the term for religions and cultural beliefs that are no longer widely practiced or accepted as fact or faith.

For example, if Christianity were to die out it would be remembered as Christian Mythology.
so yes just like religion it's exaggerated history.
>>
That depends.

'Dragons' basically referred to what we now know as dinosaurs, those giant lizards.

But other stories such as the global flood were not exaggerated, it was a catastrophic event that happened around 2000 BC that wiped out the Antediluvian civilization.

Paganism? Definately.

The Greek and Roman pantheons were basically the legends of pre-flood giants, Nephilim and fallen angels.

Holy scripture? Nope.

This book right here is all you need, it accurately covers human history from beginning to end.
