Hi /his/, what are your opinions on the Lebanese Civil War? I'm the son of Lebanese Christian Diaspora, and I'm curious in seeing what you believe.

Legacy of the French mandate. The Maronite Christians wanted to establish essentially a Christian state in Lebanon, despite being the minority, and the Muslims (both Shi'a and Sunni), who were the majority, were not happy.
Then the Israelis got involved and it all went to hell.
>>54186
>Shi'a and Sunni were the Majority
Maronite Christians made up 90% of the population before and during the war.
>>54296
lol no
Virtually all scholars agree that the Maronites had become the minority by the time the French had left.
One of the major reasons the war happened was that the Muslims, especially the Shi'a, wanted to hold a nationwide census to determine religious demographics in Lebanon, knowing full well that they were in the majority, followed by the Sunnis, then the Christians. The Maronite ruling administration was adamantly opposed to any census, fearing it would legitimacy and power if it would take place.
>>54296
Hahahaha
Maronites were never more than 20% of Lebanon.

Syrians deserve the suffering they are currently going through. It's Karma for their illegal meddling in the affairs of the Lebanese people.
It ultimately resulted in the creation of Hezbollah which is a good thing as it's the only force besides the Islamic Republic of Iran that can give the kikes a run for their money. Watch a Nasrallah speech, they have more political will and vitality than any other group I can think of.
It's worth noting how overtly left wing the Palestinians and Sunnis were at first, after the first year or so of the war politics slipped away into more overt sectarianism.
Nowadays all of Lebanon is ostensibly united against the Khazar Ghetto State who have turned Syria into chaos to prolong their demise.

Hezbollah is only good for the Muslims, and Palestinians of Lebanon. It has effectively turned Lebanon, a sovereign nation, into a puppet state for Iran. It controls production, government, and media. The mountains of Lebanon where the majority of the Christians live should declare independence, and ally itself with Israel. Fuck Pan Arab apologists.
>>55055
>Hezbollah
>not one of the primary reasons there's no Palestinian state today
>>55391
>ally itself with Israel. Fuck Pan Arab apologists.
No. Neck yourself, this instance. Before kikestan, Christians were never attacked in the Middle East. Also, the Pan Arabs wanted unity between Arab muslims and Christians in order to fight foreign influence. But israhell just had to have the US defeat Arab Nationalists, which gave way to Wahhabism.
Also, Lebanese Christians support Hezbollah you shill: http://www.christianpost.com/news/they-accept-us-as-we-are-christians-join-forces-with-muslim-group-hezbollah-to-fight-isis-in-lebanon-138975/

Small country with a minority group holding power, no national identity except for that group, and a variety of outside influences empowering other groups
>>54106
Maronites got a lot of power in government not proportional to their demographics, but the country wouldn't hold a census and the Maronites were afraid of losing their status. However, they'd been that way for a long time, what really set off hostilities was the presence of Palestinian militants in the south with their own quasi-state, fighting their own war against Israel after being expelled from Jordan. They destabilized things, people started getting massacred, and everything went to shit.
>>54106
>opinions
Are like fucking arseholes. Talk about documents or fuck off.
>>54106
The presence of that cancer in south of the border. The advance of Israel and their miasma. The delicate demographic equilibrium under the National Pact, was off square. In this, some of the Christians simply betrayed his country, with the aim of founding a vassal state of invading hordes. Everyone else fought bravely to preserve the territorial integrity of the country. A shameful episode and a wound in the history of Lebanon.
>Great-grandson of Lebanese Christian Diaspora, btw.
Well they made Waltz with Bashir about it, which is a fucking great movie. Related to that, why did the Israelis even get involved? It seemed like it would make more sense for them to just watch it all go to shit like they're doing with Syria now.
>>55773
>The Lebanese Christians wanted an independent country free from Arab scum
>Arab scum
The Christians are Arabs too. Arab =/= Muslim. Why do you think it's call Pan Arabism, not Pan Islamism?

For what purpose would you purchase amphibious armored transports, with absolutely disgusting aluminium armor if there is no water in your country?
>>65302
Because there's literally thousand of them, they're dirt cheap and do what they're supposed to do.
>>65913
>do what they're supposed to do
They are great in being deathtraps, you can penetrate their armor with 7.62 ap rounds.
>>65965
>They are great in being deathtraps
They're great in bringing troops and fucking off again, which is exactly what an APC is for
>you can penetrate their armor with 7.62 ap rounds.
Not true
Christians used to be the majority, but immigration and high-birth rates of Muslims shifted the demographic balance and plunged the country into a civil war.
That's basically the coming history of Europe.
>>55573
Fuck off commie.

Pan-Arabism failed because it was socialist bullshit, and socialism always fails. If you didn't tie your ideology with a shit economy theory, maybe it would work and you wouln't need to blame Israel for everything.
