Principia Mathematica

Just to see how that would affect the future. Image if we learned the equations needed to build the machines necessary to start an industrial revolution 1500 years earlier that we did.

Who would you give it to? Han China had a strong dynasty going, but the Romans would have been just as viable. I'd speculate that giving it to the Chinese would make world history a lot less Western-centric.
>>
>>413205

Give it to each, see which one puts it to good use first. But if I just had to put my finger on it, I'd say the Chinese. The Romans had a bad habit of letting their centers of knowledge get burned to the ground. It would probably get stored at the Library at Alexandria so yeah...

Latin translation of the Communist Manifesto + Wealth of Nations to Emperor Trajan.

I want to see that play out.
>>

Spivak's Calculus, and I think Romans would have the best luck finding someone who could figure out how to read it.
>>
A "textbook" that details the principles of mathematics up to the present understanding, then leads into physics and chemistry and astronomy and so on. When it gets into biology, I'd probably only detail down to the basics of molecular biology, like how cell membranes and protein synthesis and genetics work, in a general sense. Everything would build directly on previous sections, with frequent footnotes showing exactly which principles a concept is derived from. After the groundwork is established, the next section would show some of the more vital applications of this knowledge, like metallurgy and plastics and the like. Then, some very generalized blueprints for important systems and processes like steam ships, paper making, internal combustion engines, oil refinement, solar power, etc. Then of course a full map of the world in extreme detail, with notes on locations where certain vital resources can be easily obtained, and the different crops and animals to be found on their respective continents. Lastly, an incredibly stern warning to be responsible with their resource usage, and a strong urging to prioritize space exploration.

Essentially, a cumulative summary of modern knowledge, in a format that's as easy as possible to digest. Also it would be inscribed on six-foot tall rectangular plates of a very durable and corrosion-resistant alloy. On a smaller plate I'd include blueprints for a temple to house the plates on public display, and a suggestion to make as many wax rubbing copies of the tablets as possible.

The "book" would be nicely packaged on pallets and deposited in Emperor Trajan's palace.

It operates on the same principles yes, but you can't expect people who haven't even invented the lathe yet to be able to build a fighter jet.

Send the bible to Rome. Rome gets rid before of that stupid paganic bullshit of religion.
Rome becomes stronger than ever by 200 anno domine. Rome achieves Arabia, no Islam. Judaism is less and less popular.

By the 1000, Rome naval techniques are outstanding, discovers America and start colonizing and razing all the indians.

Year 1500, Rome/Christian hegemony is almost the entire planet, we start going to the moon.

Our current year, we "colonized" our solar system.

>Sending a book to someone whos been dead for 400 years
>>
>>413164
How do you expect ancient peoples to decipher the notation of a treatise written in a language and syntax that has yet to be invented? It would make much more sense to send the Romans something that was actually written in Latin.

Hundreds of copies of books on sailing and ship building, written in the (late) middle ages when latin was still the scholarly lingua franca. By Hansa or fuck knows or cares.

Several dozen, give nto emperor Trajan.

Either that or how to make a steam engine/printing press

this
Frankly, just packing off a book to a city isn't gonna change shit, ntm if its in modern Vatican latin they'd think it was written by a retard anyway.

I'd send an ICBM set to detonate to the site of Mecca, just for the lolz
I'd send an ICBM

I would send OP, to the Scythes or the Parthians
>>
>>413957
>Communist Manifesto
He would understand shit of it, as it referes to ay too many stuff from its era. How the hell should Trajan even be able to understand the concept of the proletariat
>>
>>416981
Proletariat is literally a latin word you retard. And it meant the same then as it means now.
>>
>>416541
Christianity already existed at that point correct?
>>
>>417192
Yes, but until 311 was illegal. Official religion became in the 380's and Roma was already sentenced to die.
>>
>>417279
Why would Christianity strengthen Rome in any way? The nifty thing with Paganism is that you get a lot less conflict.
>>
>>412448
Send the printing press and method of its creation so we could possibly have more ancient literature
>>
>>412448
Instructions on how to build an analytical Engine to Rome. They already had a computer, so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to work it out. They'd probably still fall, but imagine how much further along computing wise we would be (maybe even qt robo gf...)
>>
>>414116
>mfw there is a high chance that this would alter the future in a way you'll never be born or born a different time
>>
>>414102
Best answer so far
>>
>>414102
This would allow Hadrian about a decade to incorporate this into his studies before becoming Emperor. Damn that would be great.
