Even the crappiest biology books attempted to capture life in drawings. These are just doodles of non-existent plants, coloured with the delicacy of a 6yo. If these were based off anything, you'd see veins in the plants and such complexities.

If it is a hoax, it's very elaborate, because the mock language is very complicated
