No. Even if he had up-to-date equipment he would not really be able to stop the hordes from reaching the same places they did normally. As it turns out fighting Mongols is pretty fucking hard.
Alexander actually fought and beat a tribe whose tactics were very similarly to the Mongols.
Alexander commanded an army of about 25k, the Mongols under the Golden Horde usually fought with 70k men, so you need to factor that in as well.

Wasn't the reason for Macedonian defeat to the Romans due to lack of mobility from the phalanx units? I imagine Genghis could very easily outflank Alexander's army, though maybe if Alexander was in a more Mountainous terrain like Greece he might be able to win

If he had to stop them from conquering Greece that would be easy. If he had to stop them from entering Central Asia and then Persia that would've be way harder.
