sentiment. sentiment e'erywhere.

I thought History Channel did a good job with "The World Wars". By no means as comprehensive as that British series in the 1970s but it was still very good.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_Stone%27s_Untold_History_of_the_United_States

I just finished this 10 part series after someone posted it EZTV last month. It's a true masterpeice that both the average pleb and tinfoil PHD's would equally enjoy.

Anyone have some good recommendations for ones centered around the Byzantine Empire?

>Oliver Stone
>The REAL history of US foreign policy
I cannot imagine that being anything other than a bunch of ultra-liberal tinfoil bullshit.

BBC: The Rise and Fall of an Empire

GOAT-tier Roman series. All of em are on youtube.
>>
Would anyone recommend HBO's John Adams series? How accurate (disregarding all of private conversations) it is?

Would anyone recommend War and Peace? How accurate (disregarding that it is fiction) it is?

YMMV, but I was thoroughly entertained by this.

They repeated shit too many times between episodes and they put way too much importance on America, but it was nicely made.

Don't know of any documentaries, but there are two excellent podcasts on the Byzantine empire you can listen to on iTunes - one relatively short ("12 Byzantine Emperors") and one really in depth that is still being made, forget the name though.

Supposed to be pretty good from what I've heard from a history buff buddy of mine. Too bad they couldn't find a proper New England blueblood to play John Adams though.

Did anyone ever watch Battlefield? That was a great series in my opinion. I used to go to sleep watching reruns of this shit.
>>

It's good history and really good miniseries and not boring at all although it could've been. It's one of these shows that stay with you and you want to watch again eventually.

It turns into apologetic shit whenever there's something about the Brits. Thank God it doesn't get into politics.

Love this one

I don't think it is. It is narrated from a liberal standpoint but what is talked about is just historical fact.

>No 'The Red and the White'

I mean, technically it's about the Russian Civil War but you also have The White Sun of the Desert in there. Otherwise a pretty good list.

>tfw no one will ever make a movie about Jutland.

It's just too embarassing that the great fleet at the height of its power didn't have its own Trafalgar. Although I think it still served its purpose.

That's what you get when you put Beatty in charge of something important.
