WHAT PRACTICAL PURPOSE DO THESE TYPES OF HELMETS SERVE?
IT LEAVES A HUGE OPENING ON YOUR FOREHEAD. AND COSTS MORE MATERIALS AND MORE TIME TO PRODUCE THAN JUST A GOOD OL' BOWL SHAPED HELMET

Most blows to the forehead are in the form of overhead cuts, which this would block, and bettet than a bowl. You'd have to stab the dude, which is a really awkward strike. If you've got level of control, just go for the throat or face.
