So /his/, are humans really alone in the universe? Do you believe in ancient aliens?

EVERYTHING HAS BEEN FIGURED OUT

I don't happen to agree with OP but truth doesn't fear investigation.
>>
Ancient aliens is retarded.

As for there being other life in the Universe, I'm certain there is, but it's so distant as to be a non factor in our existence.
>>
>>31989
Perhaps /his/ should launch an investigation into the holocaust, assuming the user's respective countries don't arrest them for doing so.
>>
>>31186
Instead of talking about ancient aliens how about we make this thread more /his/ and discuss why those kinds of theories are so popular instead.

How many inventions and engineering efforts have been attributed to anomalies?

What methods were used by different ancient societies to transport and assemble their huge stonework monuments?

Not if they used astral projection.

>>32029
Why? We understand it already. Can you provide same level of understanding of those lines?
>>
Not /his/ but I believe it's mathmatically impossible we are the only life in the universe. Ancient aliens seems like fanfiction as well
>>
weren't these the guys that tried to argue that the nazca lines were runways for alien ships

that makes no sense because some of the lines go for miles when planes here need about 1-2 miles to take off and also why are there so many depictions of animals that they associate with nature gods if they were runways
>>
Nazca art was kawaii as fuck desu. Why do you think they needed aliens to do their architecture?
>>
Why is it "crazy" to think ancient aliens is a possibility but believing in some extra dimensional god is totally sane and rational?

I'm just saying that heaven would have to be in some other dimension and it relates because of people crying that OP should go to /x/

Ayy Lmao

Actually there are several kinds of Lines. The longest show undergroud water, others are a calendar. In theory by now.

>How do you make those?

Surveying equipment and scaled maps.

Why do idiots think aliens would travel all the way here just to draw some lines in sand?
>>
>>36222
Why wouldn't they?
>>
Do you guys believe the theory that the nazca people were able to build primitive manned hot-air-baloons and used them for religious ceremonies? It's definitely wacky, but at least more plausible than aliens, and IIRC some inventor managed to build a hot air balloon capable of lifting a single man into the air just with the technology available to the nazca people.
>>
ancient aliens are possible, i dont know why people act so certain it couldnt have happened somewhere. there are all sorts fo fairly close stars that likely have earth like planets. like alpha centauri, its only 4 light years away, and people think there might even be a few earth-y planets
>>
>>37134
You know you can do the nazca lines with some math and some sticks for measurements , right?
>>
Didn't seem really pioneering historian come out a few years ago and say that ancient aliens is not only possible but would resolve a lot of questions about history?

Ancient aliens is fucking retarded. Aliens able to reach us physically would be so stupidly advanced their passing would be impossible to miss- we're talking Tier 2 civ here, that shit leaves behind a paper trail.

While there is most certainly other life out there in the universe by numbers alone, it's probably so far away that neither party will be aware of each other's existence.
>>
I guess we're really /his/tory channel now. Is history so boring that we have to bring in unfounded alien speculation to keep people interested?
>>
>>31186

>So /his/, are humans really alone in the universe?

Probably not

>Do you believe in ancient aliens?

No
>>
>>32124
I wonder what /his/ thinks about Jean-Pierre Houdin. He claims to have figured out how the pyramids were built, and his theory seems to be pretty sound, supported by scientific evidence and even explaining some anomalies in the structure.

>So /his/, are humans really alone in the universe?

Probably not, but we have no real proof either way.

That being said, a lot of extra-solar planets are being discovered, and there is even that unusual star that people have been talking about lately as a potential Dyson Sphere, so the possibility of extraterrestrial life is at least being taken semi-seriously by scientists.

>Do you believe in ancient aliens?

It's highly unlikely. Not impossible, but incredibly unlikely.

That being said, some of most fun and interesting "theories" come about when people say "Aliens did it".

I love to see their theories because they truly believe them so much, and go through such efforts to make them at least seem semi-plausible.

Hell, I'll admit to being fascinated by the idea of Aliens visiting Earth either now or in the past, but I realize just how highly unlikely that actually is.
>>
>>31186
OMG!! that so racist i can't

stop erasing PoC's heritage and achievements you shitlord

do you seriously rather believe in aliens than give PoC credit??
do you know how much opression south american latinos see daily from intolerants bigot shits like you?

i don't care if you like nerdy stuff and want to believe in aliens but dont go erasing PoC's history what you just said is so racist i hope you get banned
>>
>>43190
Um... Not to burst your bubble of righteous indignation, but the natives who made the Nasca lines were not "South American Latinos". They were the indigenous peoples of the area that lived there long before the Spanish conquest and colonization.
>>
>>43351
You are seriously retarded. Can't you see that you're replying to a shitpost?

>Um...

Go back to whatever hole you came from.
>>

No.

Do you believe in ancient aliens?
Yes.
>>

He probably read into the Sumerian tablets.
>>
>>43522
You never can tell on the internet. Poe's Law, and all that.

/his/ is new, and I could honestly believe that there would be a SWJ sub-faction here already.

But yeah, back to discussing the highly unlikely (but fun) theory of Ancient Aliens.

Either that or Atlantis.

Or better yet, ALIEN ATLANTIS.
>>
No the ancient alien theory is built on lies
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j9w-i5oZqaQ
Watch the video. Its cites all of its claims in the website in the descrition.
>>
>>43889
Congrats, your Christfag shill managed to point out the exaggerations and bullshit contained in the writings of Von Daniken, Tsoukalos, and their shills.

Is the idea of aliens potentially influencing ancient civilization altogether thrown out? Nope.
>>
>>43820
>Or better yet, ALIEN ATLANTIS.

You joke, but that actually is a theory that is out there among the Ancient Alien Theorists.

That not only was Atlantis real, but Atlantis was also alien.

Everything for them somehow ties back to aliens. Even Atlantis. Because it couldn't have been super-advanced humans that gave technology and culture to other primitive humans, that isn't enough. It had to be aliens. Or aliens giving it to Atlantis which then gave it to other humans.

Ugh... This stuff gets so fucking convoluted.

Although it would make for some awesome science fiction.
>>
>>31186
Aliens in the context of ET, no. In the context of a civilization so different from anything we would even begin to recognize(including species), definitely.

I believe that the modern Alien was devised as an alternate God to those who lose their faith in humans as they think they know them and simply place Aliens as the gods who left humans be after essentially giving us every major influence. God Complex is the same regardless of the figure on the pedestal.
>>
>>44476
It's also comfortably convenient, giving vague explanations for both.
>they came, were great, then left with promise to return, taking Atlantis with them
>>
>>44476
>Although it would make for some awesome science fiction.

You mean pretty much the entire Stargate franchise?

Stargate the movie, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe are pretty much built upon the idea that all ancient myths are really about various different aliens that had visited the Earth at some point in the past.
>>

>That dog

I love Nazca pottery.
>>
>>36222

The lines in the sand are lasting markings to communicate with the heavens. Seems like a futile effort if contact never existed in history.
>>
>>46040

Maybe they believed that rain and lightning and shit was 'contact' from the gods.
>>
We're the first civilization in the whole universe. We're the ancient aliens. Future aliens will make silly shows about us making their pyramids.
>>
>>46104

> white man with beard who wore a robe came from sky to teach us agriculture and civilization
> our ancestors killed off great giants with red hair
> serpent men dwell in the desert and have lairs in caves

All of these are actual traditions of Native American tribes. How does one see a lightning bolt and translate it to a man of foreign appearance to whom one builds a great pyramid with the area of the one in Giza? UFO sightings are historical and can be found in newspaper articles throughout America long before Roswell.
>>
>>46423
>How does one see a lightning bolt and translate it to a man of foreign appearance to whom one builds a great pyramid with the area of the one in Giza?

Ayahuasca, shrooms, boredom. Ancient South Americans were a very imaginative people.
>>
>>46423
>if its publicized its true
and who controls what gets publicized?
>>
>>46486

> it's all drugs
One could say the same thing about a lot of history
>>
>>46656
>>46656

I didn't say it was true. I said the fact that sightings were reported is historical fact. Only 1% of sightings need to be real in order for there to be value to the field of ufology. The government controls what gets erased and funds many archaeological expeditions.
>>
>>31186
Its impossible

Religion doesn't deny aliens, and there is incredible proof that they exist.

But the only question is "do you believe?"
>>
It's no more outlandish than some of the other bullshit that academics like to spout. I'm a proponent of the Jungle Theory when it comes to alien interaction, but I'm not going to discount the idea of ancient aliens itself because some prominent people like Von Daniken are retards and fudge evidence like with Puma Punku. Of course, there's not nearly enough physical evidence to support ancient aliens, so I'm still skeptical, but it sure as hell makes a lot of sense in certain scenarios.
>>
>>47899
>ancient aliens make sense in a lot of scenarios
wanna name a few that don't involve simply a lack of evidence for any conclusion so that you just say it was aliens
