There have been many times when I find that some ancient piece of text refers to a people related to others which is confirmed by haplogroups.

I just found out that a large portion of my genetics comes from Flemings via Azores, where most of my native ancestry comes from. It's weird my ancestors came all the way from Flanders and were settled in the Azores by Henry the Navigator and mixed with the Portuguese and Galicians. There was a huge exodus in the 19th and early 20th century to New England and then they all moved to places like California, where I'm from and eventually to places like Hawaii

Haplogroups are mostly useless. You can't even deduct autosomal DNA percentages from them and they're mostly used for ancient migration patterns.

It means that at some point in distant history your direct male ancestor belonged to this group of proto-Germanics, yes. And since our haplogroup is not associated with the Britons or Irish, it probably means that it was brought over during the Great Migration. It just shows migration patterns, and it's helpful because you can track new mutations over time. Mostly it serves to disprove theories of race and demonstrate migratory routes and colonization.
