The greeks tried to take it back, and the eurofucks tried to even make the Anatolian peninsula part of their mandate scheme before Ataturk pushed them back.
It's ok that greeks didn't really get to stay on the Peninsula, millions of Muslims were slaughtered in the Balkans for over 100 years before the population exchange post WWI took place.

Technically that was true for Greeks too. Both sides carried out ethnic cleansings and population exchanges of their respective rival ethnicity. It's probably why Turkey is relatively stable compared to Syria and Lebanon and Iraq.
It might be the reason they all hate us so much and started modifying their religion in ways to be an antithesis to western ideals, considering western ideals only led to exploitation.

The turks didn't carry out ethnic cleansing on nearly the same scale the greeks did during the successive revolutions in the balkans during the mid to late 1800's. The greek deportations were pretty tame, except for the people who took up arms in war and died. The turks did do a lil ethnic cleansing on those armenians though :\

1) France tried to do the same for Algeria (and had a much longer period and brutal period occupying it) and ultimately it failed and pretty much destroyed the short lived post-War 4th Republic. It simply didn't have the population number to replace the native Berber/Arabs never mind Syria or a dominant Maronite-French Lebanon. Demography was always against them.
2) As for Iraq and Egypt, putting them under indirect control was because attempts at direct control was extraordinarily expensive when it came to putting down revolves. Costs that the Empire could not absorb.
