This has probably been asked at some point before, but why do some people spell it "Habsburg" while others spell it "Hapsburg?" Which is correct, or are they both acceptable?
Both correct weirdly enough.
Language develops over time, both correct. Just like how Ottoman Empire and Osman Empire are both correct.
Haus Habsburg exists longer than Standard German. At least nowadays, Habsburg is the correct one to use.
Ppl back then wrote as they spoke, until (more or less) Luther wrote his bible. Even fucking Luther had like 15 different versions of spelling his name.
