Oil crisis and loss of gold reserves. They went from the world's leader in wheat exports to the world's leader in wheat imports. Also communism is dumb.
Corruption, too much resources wasted on the army, making a stupid invesion on afghanistan.
This is why i hate communism. Everytime they waste a ton of money and resources on military, because "We must proctect the revolution from imperialism comrade"
