Hey /his/, I've been doing some searching to find a proper armed conflict between Spain and Germany, but I cannot seem to find anything.
Now, by Spain I mean the political entity found in 1492 or, at least, the Kingdom of Castilla, and by Germany I mean at least the >H>R>E.
I'm interested to know because I was thinking about how many European countries haven't actually been enemies or rivals, and I'm now stuck in German-Spanish conflicts, but I haven't yet found a proper battle, let alone war.
The closest I've come as of today: https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crisis_de_las_Carolinas
This conflict was stopped through negotiations, which surprised me quite a lot, I didn't expect Germany and Spain to be able to talk thorough differences.
I am not counting Napoleonic Spain as Spain because we all know it was just a puppet state that didn't have to do anything with proper Spain aside form usurping the name and was actually at war with the real Spain.
So, /his/, is there a war or battle I haven't realized? I need help.

All the Catholic-Protestant conflicts. Charles I of Spain and V of the HRE had to fight against Protestant princes and rebelsm

Do you have the wiki articles or some other links?

>I didn't expect Germany and Spain to be able to talk thorough differences.
Seriously, why not?
And Spain fought in the Coalition Wars with France before Napoleon decided to invade it.

Germany and Spain really didnt share any borders, and germany didnt intervene in the period of colonization in which Spain was relevant (Germany didn't exist)
THis is the closest thing to a German Spanish war
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmalkaldic_War

>Seriously, why not?
Because we have the stereotype that Spaniards and Germans are blood thirsty barbarians.
>And Spain fought in the Coalition Wars with France before Napoleon decided to invade it.
But under a government that was a French puppet state.
Carlos IV and Fernando VII were basically Napoleon's.

>Because we have the stereotype that Spaniards and Germans are blood thirsty barbarians.
Who sais this

The Tercios and the XXth century made those stereotypes.

>The Tercios and the XXth century made those stereotypes.
But neither Spain or Germany used war as their only resource. In fact war was usually the result of poor diplomacy

well, Habsburgs were rulers of both Spain and HRE. Spain was involved in Germans civil wars like Schmalkaldic War or Thirty Years War and on the other hand HRE was involved in War of the Spanish Succession. However I'm not sure if they could be considered proper conflict between two states.

A Government which was allied to France, like it was during most of the Century.

>A Government which was allied to France, like it was during most of the Century.
Yes, but comparing the early Borbon alliance to that of Carlos IV is quite disingenuous; the first Borbones did it out of interest and pure own will, Carlos IV was a subordinate.
>>
There was a proxy war in Spain between Nationalists supported by Germany and Socialists '''''supported''''' by the USSR
>>
>>1408722

>Implying that his grandad did not wanted to use Philip V as strawman
But Spain remained as an ally, not as an ally in equal terms but an ally, not a puppet.
>>
>>1408743
I still have a hard time putting the Spain of Carlos IV under the same page as that of Carlos III and before.
And besides, such a war cannot be considered as a conflict between Spain and German.
>>

Then you wont find anything.

no spanish atrocities in the Thirty Years' War?
everybody in this war (hre, sweden, france, denmark, plc, hungary...) murdered and slaughtered german civilians, not the tercios?
>>
>>1409380
>not the tercios?
The tercios just fought one battle in germany and it was Nordlingen. The biggest spanish chimp out were in the netherlands.Antwerp was made a second tier city due the Tercios loot.

france was between them... that's why they never fought, one of them had to cross france and marriage bonds made sure they never wanted to anger france
