What were the underlying causes of the Tito - Stalin split. Because this is the largest factor on why Yugoslavia was kicked from Cominform, and why they didn't join the Warsaw pact. Is there anything that could have prevented the split? What would have happened if it was prevented?

Pretty much based Tito said fuck off
Tito had the support of lots of partisans. The rest of the commie countries got occupied, every opposition was killed and the Russians put the worst criminal faggots in power, so they depended on being close to Moscow.
Stalin sucked at international relations.

There are more specific reasons but the large picture is that Stalin wanted a puppet that relied on Stalin to stay in power.
It is pretty much solely because Stalin couldn't plant a Stalinist shill in power.

Yugoslavia, unlike other Eastern European countries, liberated most of it's territories by itself in WW2, without Soviet help. This gave Tito the credibility he needed to defy Stalin - which other leaders couldn't do, since they came to power solely because of Stalin.
Anyone would've defied Stalin if they could really. Nobody likes to be a puppet.
