Taiping Rebellion, mid 1800s China. In short:
>Dude Hong Xiquan fails civil service exam three times, goes crazy, thinks he's the younger brother of Jesus
>Starts a religious rebellion while China's already fucked with the Opium Wars, does pretty well, all of society under Taiping is a weird fusion of religion and military
>Ends up crushed, up to 30 fucking million people die, Nanjing gets wrekt pretty bad, deadliest civil war in human history
>All started by a Chinese dude who thought he was related to Christ
