>the abundance of these societies was partly caused by the shenanigans of the Cold War but mostly caused by the fact that industrialization and liberal democracy are an anomaly in human society
>the Cold War happened because Germans fucked up Europe, and Russians can't stop sucking despotic dick
>which happened due to complex factors leading to serfdom ending in Western Europe sooner than Eastern Europe, and local political entities preventing Germany from unifying and creating a tradition of responsible statehood at some point before the industrial revolution
>which happened because in the thousand or so years after Rome fell, England and France developed into a more cohesive entity than Germany
>which happened because coastal transport was orders of magnitude cheaper than overland transport, so Roman administration tended to only exist in coastal areas

>because people in societies without a social safety net or adequate medical care tend to breed like rabbits
People tend to breed like rabbits when infant mortality is high, and custom are slow to change, while medicine is quick to be adopted.
>>

>custom are slow to change, while medicine is quick to be adopted

This isn't that true.

Places like Brazil and Iran have seen enormous drops in fertility even as religion continued to be ubiquitous.

It's all about the money home slice.

Did I ever mention religion? Neither Islam nor Christianity push for having a bazillion children.

>the fact that industrialization and liberal democracy are an anomaly in human society
The fuck? Have you not heard of agricultural revolution? That's how cities/industry started, and thus philosophers and the advent of liberalism.

It's perfectly normal for societies to advance in such a way.

>which happened because of the Russian crisis during the first World War

>which happened because of Western Industrialization and Colonization, Germany's lack of cohesion for much of its history, and Eastern stagnation due to the divide between East and West in Europe
>which happened because of the cohesion of French and Enlish identities quicker to German and separation of the eastern and western churches

Yes.

Answer: the Jews.
>>
>>1367595
Well, can you point to some kind of cultural change that happened in Brazil or Iran that didn't involve better health care, birth control, or lower infant mortality?

Because I'm drawing a blank.
>>
>>1367648
You see how China went through the agricultural revolution, and literally never developed any kind of indigenous democratic institutions?

In fact, literally the only democracies or republics that have historical documentation behind them were in Europe, up until very recently.

This is true for rule of law, too.

Secure property rights and independent corporations are something that still barely exists in most of the world.

I think that industrialization happened more gradually in Iran and South America (Brazil and the southern cone) that in other places in the Middle East and Latin America, not to mention Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian subcontinent, allowing for more time for customs to change.

Not that I have any proof, though.

You mentioned customs. Religion is one of the prime deciding factors of any cultures customs.
>>
>>1367865
But they're not synonyms and customs don't necessarily come from religion. Your post is pointless.
