Does the bible make more sense if you take the old and new testament to be about different gods?
Old testament god, the creator, seems to be vengeful and obsessed with evil. New testament god is more about salvation and redemption, the purity of things.
It resolves the dramatically different personalities between the two books and solves the problem of evil.

Take the Bible as it is.
The chronicles and message of a turn of the millennium Jewish preacher and the much older folklore of his people originating from their nomadic past.
The only reason they were put together in a single book is because they wanted the Jewish converts to their religion to have a continuity of faith to ease their mind.
Old Testament Yahweh will kill you and everyone in your tribe, but that's about it, then you go down to sheol like everyone else.
New Testament the Father will literally burn you for all of eternity.
I know which one I would be more afraid of.

First five books literally were written by the same author - it has nothing to do with any nomadic past.
Moses lived all his life in Egyptian palace and Jews of which ethnicity he also partake - were simply some sort of slaves.
He didn't really care about them until late in life - and all that He wrote, was trough visions from God in a direct dialogue with Him.

The old testament is 90% stolen folklore from other peoples who lived within the region at the time. I can't remember the name but the noah's arc flooding and ten plagues shit for example was definitely stolen by the jews

This position is called "Marcionism", and yes it's certainly more coherent. But a position that is even MORE coherent is that the Old Testament is Jewish mythology, and the NT is Greek mythology.

This is taken directly from the Epic of Gilgamesh, in Sumerian Noah is called "Utnapishtim".

You don't "steal" folklore, you adopt it and adapt it to your own tradition. The OT contains a good amount of "Old Myth", stuff like Adam and Eve or the Flood, that is ultimately Sumerian in origin, but it's not close to 90% and most of the OT is garbled history and politically redacted genealogies.
