You misunderstand Orthodox Christianity. All of the Patriarchs are still subordinate to the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. There is just more autonomy (autocephaly), a concept that is much confused for no organization, when in reality it is a loose hierarchical system.
As is always the way with any and all 'branches' of Orthodox Christianity, it is the most in keeping the teachings of Christ.
