When people hear "Giants in Ireland" they immediately think of Finn and so on.
I'd like to talk about Balor.
Balor "of the Evil Eye" was a fuckhuge monster man who was king of the Fomorians, some of Ireland's most ancient inhabitants who were a bit dickish to most everyone. They apparently crawled onto Ireland from the deep sea and underground.
Their sworn enemies are the Tuatha Dé Danann, who were essentially their supernatural counterpart-the Fomorians were dark, spooky and evil while the Tuatha Dé were light, happy and nice.
Anyway, Balor big dick was big bastard who-hence his name-had terrible power in one of his eyes. Whatever he looked at with it got fucked UP, whether it caught fire, was blasted apart or was beset by sudden plague.
Anyway, his story is essentially:
>Balor is the hugest
>Somebody tells him that he will be killed by his grandson
>He has no grandkids yet, so he locks his only daughter-Ethniu-in a tower
>One day, Balor steals a magic cow from a smith
>The smith had hired a guy to guard the cow, Cian, who got SUPER pissed
>Cian was so ass blisteringly mad that he fucking sets out to find Balor's tower
>When he finds it, he just fucking climbs it and fucks Ethniu senseless
>His rage-fuelled seed planted, Ethniu gives birth to 3 kids
>Balor tries to drown them all, but one survives and is raised in secret
>This kid is called Lugh
>Lugh's dick surpasses all others and he becomes king of the Tuatha Dé Danann
>He then leads an army against balor
>He then spears/uses a sling to fucking knock Balor's evil eye out of its fucking socket
>The eye destroys Balor's army
>Lugh cuts his fucking head off
>They never got the cow back
