Are there any good podcasts/series/books that cover certain eras from start to finish?
I want to get into history. Where do I start?

It depends on what you want.
If you want a light bite-sized somewhat bias version, start with Crash Course on YouTube
If you actually want to get into the meat and potatoes, you need to read books like Guns, Germs, and Steel, etc.

I'm halfway through History of Rome and it's fantastic. Good stuff for listening to while I rest my eyes. Nine hours a day staring at text is quite enough some days.
The Great War is fucking great and short and sweet.

Check out PANGEA on youtube. I don't actually know how accurate most of their stuff is, but right now I'm watching the 24 episodes Cold War series and it's great. It holds up pretty well to what I'm reading about the period, at least.
