He did own a Nazi part membersship, but so did every other German in Germany at the time lel. He was later regretful for being involved in the party.
He is pretty cool, I guess. I learned about him in psych qual research class when we were looking at phenomenology. I did enjoy Being and Time from him....

Yes but mostly in his mind. The way he acted wasn't particularly Nazi. He thought the Nazis would bring about a harmonious relationship between nature and technology. Something neither Liberal democracy nor Marxism could do, he thought. It's possible he was even more antisemitic, but it seems again to be mostly in his mind. Sounds like the most antisemitic thing he ever did was wear a Nazi pin while visiting Karl Jaspers (a Jew).
Also, there's no way you could get a materialist conception of race out of Heidegger. But he did think German and ancient Greek were the only good philosophical languages.
