Hopefully this is relevant to this board - I have a question.
What if the U.S won the Vietnam war?
Ignoring how the U.S would win the war first...
Would the bitter past of Vietnam be more happy much-like WWII? Celebrated liberators in awful places and times? Or would people still spit at the thought and reason as to why they went to Vietnam in the first place? How would the public opinion shift?
Its an odd war. Right now only lefties and morons scoff at its existance, and there wouldnt be less morons if we won.

The war ended with the paris peace accords, in which north vietnam agreed to stop fighting. Their attempted military invasion of south vietnam had totally failed

It was a failure even though the US won every major battle and was on the verge of winning. Blame the hippies if you want. Didn't matter anyway, the war was pointless

He was willing to fight to the last man & knew if the U.S were willing to help him do this they would be bankrupt.
